Lady Chiefs, Raiders pick up wins, Tigers fall in Tuesday girls’ golf results

The local girls golf season continued Tuesday with Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan and West Liberty-Salem all in action.

Bellefontaine

Bellefontaine picked up a strong home victory Tuesday afternoon, defeating Kenton Ridge 218-242 at Liberty Hills Golf Course.

Ella Fultz led the Lady Chieftains with a team-low 51. Allison Myers was close behind with a 52, while Paxton Stewart carded a 55 and Zoe Jervis rounded out the scoring with a 60.

Bellefontaine’s balanced scoring helped the Chieftains pull away for the 24-stroke victory.

The Lady Chieftains will be back at home Wednesday, taking on their next opponent at Liberty Hills Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Benjamin Logan

Benjamin Logan picked up a close three-stroke victory over Indian Lake Tuesday night, winning 230-233 at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Despite muddy and wet conditions, the Lady Raiders put together a strong team performance to secure the dual-match win.

Leah Braddock led Benjamin Logan with a 56. Sophia “River” VanVoorhis and Catherine Bramlage each finished with a 57, while Kaylynn Crumm added a 60 to complete the team’s scoring.

Montana Coleman shot a 65, followed by Kaydence Hamlin with a 67, Annika Schmidt with a 71 and Elizabeth Bramlage with a 76.

The Lady Raiders will return to action Thursday when they take on Northwestern at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

West Liberty-Salem

West Liberty-Salem finished third in a tri-match Tuesday at National Links Golf Club against Northeastern and West Jefferson.

Northeastern posted the winning team score of 250, followed by West Jefferson at 258 and West Liberty-Salem at 260.

Grace Jones led the Lady Tigers with a 61, followed by Ava Martin with a 64. Emma Cole and Ashlyn Pope rounded out the team scoring with a 67 and 68, respectively.

West Liberty-Salem will return to action Wednesday night at Locust Hills in a quad match featuring Southeastern, Mechanicsburg and Madison Plains.
