Lady Chieftain tennis keeps up hot start, sweep singles to beat Wayne

The Bellefontaine girls tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season Monday with a 3-2 victory over Wayne High School.

The Chieftains picked up three straight-set wins in singles play. At first singles, Mia Brown defeated Woolum 6-1, 6-0. Rylee Crabtree followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tastanova at second singles, while Olivia Warye earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Becker at third singles.

Wayne picked up wins in both doubles matches. At first doubles, Vasquez and Barton fell to Galloway and Price 3-6, 7-5, 2-6. At second doubles, Pulfer and Arruzza lost to L. Miller and S. Miller 4-6, 5-7.

The 3-2 victory keeps Bellefontaine undefeated at 3-0. The Chieftains will play their first league match of the season Tuesday at Northwestern.
