Weekend hoops: Lady Lakers top Falcons; Riverside falls to Troy Christian

The Indian Lake Lady Lakers beat Graham 57-51 on Saturday.

Carly Strayer led the Lakers with a game-high 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Mackenzie Dixon added 16 points, 5 assists, and 9 rebounds.

Kennedy Schwaderer scored 6 points, Rya Pequignot had 5 points and 3 assists, Courtney Altstaetter had 5 points and 14 rebounds and Alivia Kinney had 2 points.

The JV Lakers won 37-33.

Terra Beltz added 12 points and Brylee Buyer had 10 points.

The varsity Lady Pirates of Riverside lost to Troy Christian 55-44 in conference play on Saturday.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was Miah Carman with 12 points.

Kenna Johnson had 10 points and Avery Perk and Aubree Huston each had 9 points for the Pirates.

Riverside falls to 4-11 on the year.

They play Lehman Catholic on Thursday night in Sidney.

The Riverside JV Pirates beat Troy Christian in two quarters on Saturday, 11-3.

Randi Doyle led the team in scoring with three points.

The JV Pirates are now 3-5-2.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders lost a close game to Northwestern 39-35.

Lahna Cook led scoring for the Raiders with 10 points, Adilynne Gregg had 7 points, Kaylee Hays added 6 points, Kylie Harner had 4 points, and Elliott Butler and Daylin Varner both had 3 points each.

The JV Lady Raiders beat the Warriors 49 to 27.

Molly Siefring led the scoring with 12 points, Lexi Lovett and Madison Shields both had 8 points each, Bonnie Brunson had 7 points, Aubrey Harris had 6 points, and Miya Willis added 3 points.

The Lady Raiders take on West Jefferson on Tuesday at home with the JV game starting at 6:00 pm.

Triad played at Northeastern Saturday winning 50-22.

For Triad, Mia LeMay had a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds.

Gracie Martin had 12 points. Bre Parsons had 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Abbey Overfield had 7 points and 6 rebounds, along with 4 assists.

Triad will play at Fairbanks on Wednesday in a Varsity-only contest at 7:30 pm.

West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers beat West Jefferson 44-35.

Addie Wallen led the Lady Tigers with 16 points.

Ava Astorino added 12 in the win.

In boys basketball, the Riverside Pirates lost at home to Arcanum 79-72.

They were down by 21 points during the 3rd quarter and clawed their way back in the 4th but ran out of time.

Jaxon Woods led with 25 points 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks.

Gavin Orsborne added 18 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

JV lost 75-46 and the Freshman Team lost 50-20.

Indian Lake took on Shawnee on Saturday, winning 56-47.

Brodey Reisinger led the Lakers with 24 points.

The Calvary Christian Spartans were defeated by the Emmanuel Christian Lions, 59-49.

Seniors Philip Davie and Zeeke Wylie were the leading scorers with 15 and 14 points respectively.

Davie also grabbed 4 rebounds and 3 steals and had 3 assists.

Wylie followed closely with 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists.

Christian Rogan scored 7 points and had 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 assists.

Daniel Young scored 5 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and 1 steal, and had 4 assists.

Ian and Evan Schmidt both had 4 points each.

Evan also had 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 assist.
