Several area volleyball teams were in action Thursday night, with Benjamin Logan earning a varsity sweep while Riverside’s seventh- and eighth-grade teams faced Troy Christian.
Benjamin Logan 3, Shawnee 0 — Varsity
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders traveled to Shawnee Thursday evening for a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division matchup and came away with a straight-set victory.
Benjamin Logan won 25-22, 25-12 and 25-23 to close out Homecoming Week with three match victories.
Georgia Daniels led the Raiders offensively with 12 kills. Summer Cline added eight kills, while Abby Vance finished with six.
Nevaeh Fogle recorded three kills, Avah Miller had two and Storm Levan added one.
Autumn Cline directed the offense with 34 assists, while Leah Dials served three aces.
Brielle Kline led the passing effort with a 1.92 rating, followed by Lydia Johnson with a 1.42 rating.
The Lady Raiders will look to continue their momentum as they return to action next week.
Troy Christian 2, Riverside 0 — 7th Grade
Riverside traveled to Troy Christian for a conference matchup, with the Pirates falling in straight sets, 13-25 and 21-25.
Destiney Lattimer led Riverside with 10 points and four aces.
Bella Castallante added three points and two aces, while Stella Shultz and April Tryloff each scored two points.
Saber Jenkins finished with one point and an ace, Kylie Godshall added one point and an ace, and Brayla Olinger contributed one point.
Troy Christian 2, Riverside 0 — 8th Grade
The Riverside eighth-grade team also fell to Troy Christian, 18-25 and 9-25.
Bella Shultz led the Pirates with three points, two aces and three tips.
Avery Wheeler and Kinsley Crawford each scored two points, with Crawford also recording a kill.
Paloma Quixan added two points and an ace, while Brylee Shephard finished with one point and an ace.
Ruth Morrison contributed one point.
Riverside will return to the court Saturday when the Eagles travel to Ridgemont for a 10 a.m. match.
