The local girls golf season continued Thursday as Benjamin Logan and West Liberty-Salem were both in action. The Lady Raiders fell to Northwestern at Reid Park, while the Lady Tigers dropped a close match to Greenon at Locust Hills Golf Club.
Benjamin Logan
Benjamin Logan traveled to Reid Park Thursday night to take on Northwestern, with the Lady Raiders coming up short 199-216.
Kaylynn Crumm led Benjamin Logan with a 49, followed by Leah Braddock with a 51. Catherine Bramlage shot a 55, while Sophia “River” VanVoorhis finished with a 61 to round out the team’s four counting scores.
Annika Schmidt added a 63, while Alayna Johnson shot a 69, Montana Coleman finished with a 70, Kaydence Hamlin posted a 73, and Laurel Smith and Elizabeth Bramlage each finished with a 75.
Despite the loss, the Lady Raiders had several golfers contribute throughout the lineup and will look to bounce back in their next match.
Benjamin Logan will return to action Monday when the Lady Raiders take on Indian Lake at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
West Liberty-Salem
West Liberty-Salem fell to Greenon 221-234 Thursday afternoon at Locust Hills Golf Club in Springfield.
Grace Jones led the Lady Tigers with a 53, while Ashlyn Pope turned in a personal-best round of 54. Emma Cole followed with a 63, and Nevaeh Gravely carded a 64 to complete the team’s four counting scores.
The Lady Tigers were within striking distance of Greenon but ultimately came up short by 13 strokes. Pope’s personal-best round was a bright spot for WL-S as the team continues its early-season schedule.
West Liberty-Salem will return to action Tuesday at National Golf Links when the Lady Tigers take on West Jefferson.
