Bellefontaine football standout Haiden Manns has signed his letter of intent with Division I (FCS level) Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
The senior defensive end anchored the Chiefs’ defensive line last fall and was a four-year starter for BHS. He also shined as a lead blocker at tight end.
Manns dominated games with his size (6′ 4″, 250 lbs.) and explosiveness.
He said, “I chose Duquesne because they’re a Division I program, and they have an excellent business program.”
Manns also considered Ashland University and Ohio Dominican University.
Haiden said playing college football became a goal two years ago.
Manns was named Second Team All-Ohio and First Team All-District last fall.
He was a key contributor on the first team in school history to win three playoff games in the same season. The Chiefs advanced to the Division III regional final in November.
Manns has a 3.0 grade point average at BHS. His grades have dramatically improved in the last two years.
He plans on studying business marketing at Duquesne. He will play defensive end for the Dukes.
His goals are to become a business owner or run a large corporation.
