Benjamin Logan track and field continued its strong spring season Wednesday night, as both the Raider boys and Lady Raiders captured team titles at the Fairbanks Quad Meet in Milford Center.
The boys finished first with 110.5 points, ahead of host Fairbanks (85), Delaware Christian (19.5), and Madison Christian (18). The girls also claimed the top spot, narrowly defeating Fairbanks 108-104, with Delaware Christian (9) and Madison Christian (6) rounding out the standings.
Benjamin Logan also saw a historic performance away from the quad meet, as Carter Daniels competed at Piqua and cleared 15 feet, 2 inches in pole vault to break the school record while placing second overall.
Benjamin Logan Boys – 1st Place (110.5 points)
The Raiders used a balanced effort across sprints, relays, hurdles, and field events to comfortably win the team title.
Roman Maxwell paced Benjamin Logan with two first-place finishes, winning high jump (5-10) and long jump (20-4.25). Wyatt Predmore added a sprint victory in the 100-meter dash (11.57), while Cole Somerlot captured first in the 300 hurdles with a personal-record time of 47.68.
In the throws, Gus Bibart won discus with a mark of 132-11.
Benjamin Logan dominated the relays, winning four events:
- 4×800 relay – Gavin Jordan, Brock Henry, Maxwell Troth, Tyler Shoopman (9:55.09)
- 4×100 relay – Carter Buck, Cooper Buck, Roman Maxwell, Davis Matthews (46.03)
- 4×200 relay – Wyatt Predmore, Davis Matthews, Alex Hassel, Carter Buck (1:35.18, PR)
- 4×400 relay – Tyler Shoopman, Cooper Buck, Gavin Jordan, Davis Matthews (3:51.4)
The Raiders added several runner-up finishes to build separation, including Asher Boysel in shot put, Nate Mitchell in discus, Joe Meeker in high jump, Maxwell Troth in the 800, Luke Vesley in the 1600, Tyler Shoopman in the 400, and Cole Somerlot in the 110 hurdles.
Additional scoring came from third-, fourth-, and fifth-place finishes throughout the lineup, highlighting the team’s depth as postseason competition approaches.
Benjamin Logan Girls – 1st Place (108 points)
The Lady Raiders edged Fairbanks by four points behind standout relay performances and dominance in several field events.
Benjamin Logan claimed victories in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays. The 4×200 team of Nahla Payne, Adelina Ramsey, Scarlett Elliott, and Abby Vance finished first in 1:58.30, while Benjamin Logan also took second and third in the event with additional relay squads.
In the 4×400, Benjamin Logan’s B team of Lucy Wenger, Elliott Butler, Peyton Smith, and Lottie Bodin won in 4:40.66, with the A team finishing second.
Individually, the Lady Raiders collected several first-place finishes:
- Gwen Smith – 1600 run (6:20.74)
- Fiona Sweeney – 400 dash (1:12.61)
- Kyla Godwin – discus (112-0)
- Abby Vance – long jump (17-1.5)
- Scarlett Elliott – pole vault (9-6)
Benjamin Logan also swept the top three spots in discus, with Autumn Cline placing second and Kaylee Hays third.
Additional runner-up performances came from Molly Siefring in the 1600, Storm LeVan in the 300 hurdles, Penelope Elliott in pole vault, and multiple relay teams.
Coaches noted 20 athletes recorded new personal records during the meet, giving the program strong momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Benjamin Logan returns to action Friday at the West Liberty-Salem Invitational as both teams continue preparing for conference and tournament competition.
