Riverside Varsity Girls Basketball Defeats Triad 41-36

In an exciting varsity girls basketball matchup, Riverside edged out Triad 41-36. Riverside held a slim lead throughout the game, finishing each quarter with a narrow advantage. The Pirates led 11-9 after the first quarter, extended their lead to 19-18 at halftime, and held a 28-24 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Riverside’s standout player was Miah Carman, who led all scorers with 9 points. Kenna Johnson contributed 8 points, while Avery Perk and Valerie Knight each chipped in 6 points. With this victory, Riverside improves to a 1-1 record on the season.

Looking ahead, the Pirates will face USV next Tuesday with the JV team playing two quarters starting at 6 p.m.

West Liberty-Salem Dominates Northeastern 64-7

In a one-sided contest, West Liberty-Salem crushed Northeastern 64-7. The game saw standout performances from several players, with Ava Astorino leading the team with 20 points. Indian Lake suffered a narrow defeat to Waynesfield Goshen, 45-41. Mackenzie Dixon was the top scorer for Indian Lake, putting up 20 points and recording 6 steals.
