The Ben Logan boys soccer team had an impressive victory over Urbana last night, defeating them 8-1. After a dominant first half with a score of 5-0, Urbana managed to score their only goal from a penalty kick. Notable performances came from Aidan Todd and Carter Lyden, each scoring two goals. Other goals were contributed by Ethan Miller, Landon Stoodt, Eric Hughes, and Landen Simon. With this win, the Raiders improve their record to 6-4-4 overall and 5-2-1 in CBC play.
In contrast, the Lady Raiders fell to Urbana with a score of 5-0.
In other action, Monday night was senior night at Acusport Stadium, where the Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs triumphed over the Lakers, 2-0. Senior Elaina Ullom and Callie Shumaker each scored a goal, with Ullom and Ava Watson providing assists. The defense, led by Sloan Stolly, Alivia May, Sonya Smith, and Adisson Wical, played a crucial role in securing the shutout, while sophomore keeper Emma Whitaker recorded five saves.
Meanwhile, the West Liberty-Salem Tigers showcased their strength in a match against West Jefferson, winning 6-1. After leading 2-1 at halftime, the Tigers scored four additional goals in the first twenty minutes of the second half. Isaiah Reminder led the charge with two goals, while Troy Christison, Isaiah Reames, and Wyatt Longaberger added one goal each. The Tigers now stand at 9-2-2 and will face Urbana this Saturday at 5:30 PM.
The West Liberty-Salem girls soccer team traveled to Miami East but came up short, losing 0-2. Audrey Collins made ten saves for the Tigers, who are now 5-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Varsity Tigers will travel to West Jefferson on Thursday for an OHC matchup, with kickoff expected at 5:30 PM.
