Volleyball: Lakers Battle London, Benjamin Logan Sweeps Urbana, Calvary Christian Takes on Dominion Academy & Riverside Falls to Bethel

The Indian Lake Lady Laker volleyball team lost to London Thursday: 25-20, 18-25, 17-25 & 21-25.

Leading the Lakers:

  • Devin Rice had 2 blocks and 10 kills
  • Madison Brentlinger had 5 ace serves on 21/22 serving, 11 kills, and 13 digs
  • Halle Roby had 31 assists, 6 digs, and 5 kills
  • Katie Roby was 20/22 serve receive and had 30 digs
  • Kenzie Dixon had 7 kills and 13 digs
  • Tori Roby was 34/36 serve receive, had 4 kills and 10 digs

The Lakers are 11-2, 5-0 in the CBC.

Their next match is Tuesday at Jonathan Alder.

The JV Lakers beat London 25-20, 25-17.

  • Addy Roby was 7/10 serving with 3 aces, 8/10 hitting with 4 kills, and 31/32 setting with 12 assists
  • Addison Beck was 5/5 serving with 1 ace, 7/8 serve receive with 5 perfect and had 8 digs
  • Brynna Avila was 11/11 serving with 4 aces, 6/6 serve receive, 10/10 hitting and had 4 digs
  • Makenna Hurley was 7/7 serving with 1 ace. 7/7 hitting with 3 kills
  • Ady Oldiges was 13/13 setting with 5 assists
  • Cami Bailey was 2/3 serving, 11/13 hitting with 5 kills, and had 1 block
  • Lilly Wickline was 4/5 hitting with 2 kills and had 1 block
  • Riley Ross was 9/9 serve receive with 7 perfect and had 14 digs
  • Courtney Altstaetter was 13/15 with 7 kills

The JV team is 11-2. Their next match is Monday at home with Bellefontaine.

 

All three squads for the Benjamin Logan Volleyball program swept Urbana Thursday in the match-up at Benjamin Logan High School.

The Varsity scores were 25-9, 25-10 & 25-9.

  • Madelyn Harmon: 8 digs and was a major threat from the service line with 22 points from her serve alone.
  • Lexi Archer: 3 aces, 10 assists, and 3 digs
  • Georgia Bates: 6 digs
  • Bailee Stover: 6 digs
  • Mia Stahler: 6 kills, 13 assists, 3 aces
  • Makayla Williamson: 7 kills, 2 aces
  • Skylar Miracle: 6 kills, 2 aces
  • Kyndal Cronkleton: 3 kills
  • Caroline Spriggs: 3 kills
  • Lauren Hemmelgarn: 2 kills

Makayla Williamson has reached a career milestone of 500+ kills.

The Lady Raiders take on Tecumseh on Tuesday at Tecumseh.

On Thursday it’s Alumni night for Benjamin Logan Volleyball when the Raiders take on Graham at home.

The Riverside Lady Pirates lost against the Bethel Bees in 3 sets: 17-25, 15-25 & 23-25.

  • Avery Perk: 10 assists, 6 kills
  • Aubree Huston: 6 kills, 100% from the serving line with 2 aces, led the team in serve receive
  • Kait Schlumbohm: 14 digs

Riverside JV lost against Bethel in 2 sets. Zoey Ransbottom had 4 assists. Keira Manahan had 2 aces and 3 kills.

 

Calvary Christian JV Volleyball team lost their match against Dominion Academy Thursday night at home in 2 sets: 19-25 & 14-25.

Elisabeth Hermiller was the server of the night, serving 13 points.

Despite their losses, this team is continuing to improve and grow. Spartans JV are now 1-6.

Calvary Christian Varsity volleyball played an intense match against Dominion Academy and despite the heat won in 4 sets: 25-15, 25-20, 10-25 & 25-17.

  • Kari Gantz had the best serve reception of the night, 2 aces and 10 digs
  • Madelyn Trittschuh had 5 aces, 5 kills, and a block
  • Ava Cole had 5 kills and 2 blocks
  • Nora Thornton had 5 assists and 3 digs
  • Ruby Slemmons had 5 assists, 4 digs, and 2 kills
  • Stacia Rogan had 4 aces and a great serve reception as well
  • Abigail Hermiller had 4 aces

It was a whole team effort in this win.

Spartan varsity is now 8-1 and has a double match this Saturday in Sidney at Christian Academy.
