Local Bowling Teams Deliver Strong Performances

Lady Raiders Triumph Over Jonathan Alder
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders kicked off their season with a thrilling 2,268 to 2,249 win over Jonathan Alder. Aubrey Zedlitz led the way for the Raiders with an impressive 399 series, rolling games of 218 and 181. Kaelyn Corwin followed with a strong 355 series (193, 162), and Maddy Hamm added a 171 game to the team’s total.

The Junior Varsity (JV) Lady Raiders also emerged victorious, defeating Jonathan Alder 1,636 to 1,312. Jacey Koehler led the JV squad with a 304 series (171, 133), while Gi Saunders rolled a 284 series (137, 147). Kaydon Wilber chipped in with a 152 game.

The Lady Raiders are back in action on Tuesday, November 26th, at Jonathan Alder for a 4:00 PM start.


Benjamin Logan Boys Varsity Bowling Drops Home Game
The Benjamin Logan Boys Varsity Bowling team began their 2024-2025 season with a close loss to Jonathan Alder, falling 2,771 to 2,820. Jarrett Buckenroth led the Raiders with a standout 466 series (245, 221), followed by Nate Davis with a 427 series (214, 213). Landon Stoodt contributed with a 391 series (209, 182), Dylan Stewart rolled a 385 series (171, 214), and Caleb Knight posted a 346 series (190, 156). The Raiders split in the Varsity Baker Games with Jonathan Alder.

The Varsity Boys are 0-1 in CBC play and will return to action Monday, November 25th, at Victory Lanes in Springfield at 4:00 PM.


Benjamin Logan Boys JV Bowling Triumph
The Boys Junior Varsity team had a successful season debut, defeating Jonathan Alder 2,181 to 1,985. Colton Klopfenstein led the JV squad with a 348 series (170, 178), followed by Conner Chambers with a 344 series (146, 198). Asher Wade posted a 325 series (177, 148), Pierce Jenkins rolled a 311 series (166, 145), and Jace Lyons added a 291 series (156, 135).

In the JV Baker Games, the Raiders lost 3 out of 4 to Jonathan Alder. The JV squad is now 1-0 in CBC action and will be in Springfield for a 4:00 PM start on Monday, November 25th.


Bellefontaine Girls Set New School Record in Victory Over North Union
The Bellefontaine Girls Bowling team kicked off their season with a bang, setting a new school record in their 2,759 to 2,152 victory over North Union. The team surpassed their previous record by 57 pins. Gracie Hood was the standout bowler, posting a remarkable 448 series (217, 231). Chloe Heminger followed closely with a 438 series (202, 236), while Nevaeh LaFollette rolled a 433 series (198, 235). Haylee Yelton contributed with a 389 series (188, 201).

The Bellefontaine JV Girls team also defeated North Union 1,695 to 1,407. Isabelle Gunnett led with a 297 series (147, 148), while Kinzie Bernard rolled a 289 series (159, 130).


Bellefontaine Boys Bowling Defeats North Union
The Bellefontaine Boys Bowling team also emerged victorious at home, defeating North Union. Alex Moon led the Chieftains with a 430 series (220, 210), and David Allen rolled a stellar 249 game. Rory Pierce added a 208 game, while Brandon Pinkerton contributed with a 207 game. The team combined for a 772 series in the Baker Games.

The Bellefontaine Boys JV squad also collected a win, beating North Union 2,174 to 1,620. Jacob Lynch posted a 421 series (247, 174), while Van LaFollette added a 202. Javelin Saxton rolled a personal best 156 game.

The Chieftains will be in action on Friday at TP Lanes against Tecumseh.
