The following is a press release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office:
Detectives from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating multiple reports received within the last several months. These reports involve a male suspect harassing young females in the Amish Community in the rural Degraff area.
The male suspect has reportedly been slowly driving in the area near Amish bicyclists, Amish buggies, and Amish residences, acting in a suspicious manner. It was reported that the unknown male was consistently traveling and parking in the area, harassing young females, and exposing himself.
In one incident, it was reported that the suspect blocked the rural Township Road with his vehicle, attempting to prevent a young female from traveling past him while exposing himself. The female had to travel down into the ditch to get away from the suspect.
In all the reported incidents, the male had a similar physical description and vehicle description, a red in color SUV.
Awitness was able to obtain a license plate for the suspect vehicle after yet another report of suspicious activity. Detectives were then able to identify the male suspect involved as Jonathon W. Clark (39). Clark had an outstanding warrant for unrelated offenses. He was taken into custody by deputies on 06/15/2026.
Detectives met with witnesses and showed pictures of Clark and Clark’s vehicle to them. They provided a positive identification of Clark being the individual responsible.
Upon interviewing Clark, he stated he was homeless and was living in his car. He admitted to being in the area where the complaints were received but claimed he was only going slow when passing by members of the Amish community for safety reasons. He denied any further allegations of lude behavior.
Clark was charged with the following:
-
Attempted Kidnapping
-
Menacing by Stalking
-
Public Indecency
