A bomb threat reported Tuesday afternoon led to the immediate evacuation of Ohio Northern University in Ada, according to campus alerts.
The first alert, issued around 2:16 p.m., warned students, faculty, and staff of a bomb threat on campus and instructed everyone to leave immediately.
Officials advised evacuees not to touch anything, limit phone use, and stay clear of campus buildings.
Those displaced were told they could shelter at Ada High School.
In an update at 2:47 p.m., the university confirmed evacuation efforts were ongoing, with buses staged along the boulevard south of McIntosh Center to transport evacuees.
Authorities also announced that buildings would be cleared one by one, beginning with McIntosh Center and King-Horn Center.
Emergency procedures remain active as officials continue to assess the situation. No additional details about the threat or any potential danger have been released.
As of 3:42 p.m., King-Horn Center — and only King-Horn — has been cleared.
Students are now able to return to King-Horn if they need a place to shelter while other campus buildings and living spaces continue to be checked.
University staff and security are monitoring access to the building.
Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
