The West Liberty Police Department is reminding everyone planning to attend Saturday night’s fireworks display to follow special traffic and parking guidelines to help ensure a safe and efficient evening.

Motorists should enter and exit the park using only the southern entrances off State Route 245.

When the fireworks conclude, officers will direct traffic into two dedicated exit lanes to safely accommodate both eastbound and westbound vehicles.

Township Road 174 is part of the fireworks safety zone.

No parking or seating will be permitted along the roadway, and officers will be stationed in the area to keep it clear.

All no-parking zones will be clearly marked.

Drivers should also expect rolling road closures and restricted access on Pickrelltown Road and Township Road 174 beginning around 7:00 p.m. as crews prepare for the fireworks display.

Roads are expected to fully reopen about 30 minutes after the show ends.

If severe weather forces a postponement, the fireworks will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 28.

Any schedule changes will be announced through social media and local media outlets.

The West Liberty Police Department encourages everyone to have a safe and enjoyable weekend as the community kicks off celebrations of the nation’s 250th birthday.
