Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month, Ryan Alexander and Taylor Banta.
Ryan Alexander is the son of Abby and Galen Miller and Nate and Emily Alexander, all of Bellefontaine.
School activities and awards: 4 years Cross Country, 4 years Swim, 4 years Musical, 3 years Les Fons, and received the Governor’s Merit Scholarship.
If I were principal for a day: I would give everyone a free day and have a concert for the music groups to perform.
Favorite school memory: State Choir freshman year.
People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents, Mr. Brice Henry, Mrs. Mitchell, Coach Lewis, Coach Davis, my girlfriend, and my friends and family.
Lately I’ve been reading: The Newsies musical book to prepare for this year.
My advice to parents: Let your kids take the classes they want and don’t push them too hard. Most people learn best in a relaxed environment.
My biggest regret: Not taking more ‘fun’ classes like more foods or shop or ceramics.
Next year: I will be attending The Ohio State University and studying welding engineering.
Taylor Banta is the daughter of Sean and Jennifer Banta of Bellefontaine.
School activities and awards: Team captain and 4-year varsity letterman for Volleyball, Chieftain Leaders, National Honor Society, and DECA.
If I were principal for a day: I would bring my cats to school.
People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents.
Lately I’ve been reading: My AP United States History and Anatomy textbooks.
My advice to parents: I don’t really have any advice, but I do think as kids we should say thank you more to our parents; they deserve it.
My biggest regret: Not knowing that I could graduate with an associate’s degree soon enough.
Next year: I will be attending Clark State Community College and studying business.
