The City of Bellefontaine will begin its 2026 leaf pickup season next week, with the Street Department operating on an on-call basis during the week of October 19.
Residents can request pickup by emailing [email protected] or calling 937-592-1736.
Regularly scheduled pickup will begin October 26 in the section north of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street.
Crews will collect leaves in that area on October 26, 27, and 28.
Residents should place leaves in the boulevard or as close to the street as possible, but not in the street or on the sidewalk.
Vehicles should not be parked in front of leaf piles, allowing crews and equipment to reach the leaves.
The city will not accept bagged leaves, branches, brush, or trash through its leaf pickup program.
Regular refuse collection is also not permitted to pick up leaves or other yard waste.
Residents are reminded that city ordinance prohibits placing grass clippings, shrub trimmings, flowers, or other materials on streets or alleys where they could wash into or clog storm sewers.
