Belle’s Yellow Legacy of Love has received a $1,000 grant from the Champaign Community Foundation to support the nonprofit’s Special Needs Immediate Support Initiative through Belle’s Giving Fund.
The following information is from a press release issued by the Champaign Community Foundation:
“The Champaign Community Foundation is excited to announce one of their 2026 grants of $1,000 to Belle’s Yellow Legacy of Love to support their Belle’s Giving Fund.
This Champaign County nonprofit was founded in 2024, and its mission is to provide financial assistance and essential resources to individuals with special needs and their families, ensuring access to items and support not covered by insurance or other funding sources.
Through their Giving Fund, they respond directly to urgent and practical needs within the community. The organization has funded elopement safety devices, sensory equipment, therapeutic tools, clothing for a child in foster care, and other critical resources that directly impact safety, development, and quality of life.
Families of individuals with special needs frequently encounter unexpected financial gaps. Critical safety devices, sensory equipment, adaptive tools, and therapy-related items are often denied by insurance or only partially covered. These unmet needs can create significant financial strain and, in some cases, safety concerns.
‘With this funding, we anticipate serving approximately 10-15 families, depending on the nature of requests,’ said Glenda Marck, founder and vice president of Belle’s Yellow Legacy of Love. ‘Each funded item will provide tangible outcomes such as increased safety, improved regulation and learning support, or reduced financial stress for caregivers. Belle’s Yellow Legacy of Love remains committed to bridging gaps quickly and compassionately, ensuring that local families receive support when they need it most.’
The Champaign Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Springfield Foundation that supports efforts to improve the quality of life in Champaign County. Managed by the local Champaign County Advisory Board of Directors, the endowment fund generates sustainable income to support projects and organizations throughout the county.
Contributions to the Champaign Community Foundation Endowment Fund are accepted from individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in supporting the community. Donations can be made through the Springfield Foundation and designated for the Champaign Community Foundation.”
