Benjamin Logan Middle School is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. This funding will support the second year of the Writing Across the Curriculum Professional Development Series for the 2024-2025 school year.
In collaboration with the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center (MRESC) and Collins Education Associates (CEA), the initiative aims to advance students’ writing skills across all subjects through the comprehensive implementation of the Collins Writing Program.
The grant will help cover costs for several professional development days, including whole and small-group modeling, targeted coaching, and classroom observations. These sessions will be customized to meet the specific needs of different grade levels and content areas.
CEAs consultants will be available throughout the school year to model strategies, provide concrete examples, and offer direct feedback and support to teachers. This hands-on approach is designed to ensure that effective writing practices are consistently integrated into classroom instruction, enhancing both teacher effectiveness and student writing skills.
Benjamin Logan Middle School is committed to delivering high-quality education and is enthusiastic about continuing this impactful journey with the generous support of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.
