North Lewisburg wrapped up its 200th anniversary celebration Monday with the village’s bicentennial parade, marking the end of a weekend filled with community events, history, and hometown pride.
North Lewisburg dates back to September 6, 1826, when Gray Gary platted the village after purchasing 150 acres in the area. The village was incorporated in 1844 and has continued to grow for the past 200 years.
The bicentennial parade was one of the highlights of the celebration, with residents and visitors lining the streets to celebrate the village and its history.
Featured in the parade was a Jeep rally with decorated vehicles, along with local first responders representing North Lewisburg. Law enforcement, fire and EMS crews took part in the parade, along with Triad High School cheerleaders and the marching band.
Local businesses and community organizations also joined the parade, helping showcase the people and organizations that make up the North Lewisburg community.

The parade was part of a four-day celebration that featured a variety of activities throughout Labor Day weekend.
Events included food trucks, community yard sales, library activities, karaoke, old-time baseball and softball games, a Jeep rally, vendors, a historical scavenger hunt, cornhole, inflatable games, Coates Cabin tours, and miniature train rides.
Live entertainment was featured throughout the weekend, along with a community church service, farm and vendor market, bingo, historical presentations, and fireworks Sunday evening.
Monday’s activities included a 5K family fun run and walk, duck races, a signature quilt auction, raffle drawings, veterans photos, and bicycle decorating. The celebration concluded with a Cardinal Choir performance, a time capsule presentation and bicentennial cake cutting at Municipal Hall.
The village’s 200th anniversary celebration allowed residents to celebrate North Lewisburg’s history while highlighting the people, businesses, organizations, and traditions that continue to shape its future.
