The City of Bellefontaine Water Department has lifted the boil advisory that had been in effect for several areas on the city’s east side after water samples confirmed the water is safe for consumption.
The advisory had impacted the following locations:
- 547 E. Columbus Ave.
- 601 E. Columbus Ave. through 705 E. Columbus Ave.
- 113 N. Hayes St. through 236 N. Hayes St.
- 546, 550, and 554 E. Sandusky Ave.
Residents in the affected areas may now resume normal water use.
As a precaution, the Water Department is encouraging customers to run cold water faucets for several minutes to flush household plumbing, discard any ice made during the advisory period, flush refrigerator water lines and replace water filters if needed, and run dishwashers and washing machines through one cycle before regular use resumes.
City officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the advisory period.
