Sunday at the 185th Champaign County Fair features a full day of livestock events, family activities, and one of the week’s most anticipated traditions—the crowning of the 2026 Junior Fair Queen.
The day begins with Rabbit Check-In at 7 a.m. Livestock competition starts at 8 a.m. with the Fancy Poultry Show, followed by Poultry Showmanship, while beef exhibitors compete in Junior Fair Beef Showmanship beginning at 8:30 a.m. Horse events continue at 11 a.m. with Junior Fair Horse and Pony classes.
The Ag Innovation Series returns from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Activities Building, while a community worship service led by Pastor Stephen Luzader of North Lewisburg United Methodist Church will also begin at 10 a.m. Fairgoers can enter homemade pies in the annual Pie Contest from 11 a.m. to noon.
The afternoon includes Pee Wee Swine Showmanship at noon, along with the popular Guys & Gals Sheep Lead-In Classes, Sheep Evaluation, and Pee Wee Sheep Showmanship. Rabbit and cavy exhibitors will also take part in skillathon and awards beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the annual Pie Auction at 3 p.m.
Sunday evening shifts to the Grandstand for one of the fair’s signature events. At 6 p.m., bands from Champaign County schools will perform the National Anthem while 4-H Cloverbuds interpret it in sign language.
The spotlight then turns to the Junior Fair Queen Coronation at 7 p.m., where the 2026 Junior Fair Queen will be crowned. The evening will also recognize the 4-H Boy and Girl of the Year, 4-H Volunteer of the Year, and FFA Boy and Girl of the Year before wrapping up with the always-popular Pig and Calf Scramble, giving families and fairgoers an exciting finish to the day’s events.
