Community Health & Wellness Partners (CHWP) held a ribbon cutting Friday morning for the new Riverside Community School-Based Health Center at Riverside Local Schools.

The partnership between CHWP and Riverside Schools began in 2020.

The clinic opened in a temporary space in the school on March 6, 2023. Since the opening date, there have been 118 patients served and 152 visits.

This is the fourth school-based health center for CHWP. Riverside is the first community school-based health center serving all residents. Other schools that currently have school-based health centers are West Liberty-Salem, Indian Lake, and Benjamin Logan.

Children, staff, and community members do not have to drive far for a provider anymore as this convenient location will be of great benefit.

For over 25 years, DeGraff has been without a doctor or medical facility.

DeGraff Mayor Stephanie Orsborne and Mike Weber, Village Administrator for Quincy, on behalf of the Quincy Mayor, thanked Superintendent Dr. Scott Mann, Riverside Schools and CHWP President/CEO Tara Bair for their dedication to making this community school-based health center a reality after months of anticipation.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Mann said, “This clinic is an example for small communities everywhere.” He thanked CHWP for saying yes to this project and being a partner.
