Thursday, Logan County Commissioners Joe Antram, Mike Yoder, and Greg Fitzpatrick honored Lieutenant Colonel Robert C. Hume, U.S. Air Force (Retired), for his outstanding service.
During a special ceremony, the commissioners presented Colonel Hume with an American flag that had been flown above the Logan County Courthouse in January, as a symbol of gratitude for his dedicated years of service to the United States Air Force.
Colonel Hume served in the Air Force from 1994 to 2015, holding various leadership roles in intelligence, network operations, information management, and instruction.
He played a key part in air, space, and cyber missions that supported both U.S. and allied military operations around the world.
He also taught at the Air Command and Staff College and was a guest instructor at the NATO School and Germany’s military staff college.
The commissioners praised Colonel Hume for his work with the U.S. Transportation Command, where he helped provide intelligence to support military operations and humanitarian efforts that reached millions of people worldwide.
They noted that his service had a significant impact on both the military and the community.

Colonel Hume gives advice to those considering entering the military:
Colonel Hume, a native of Canal Fulton, Ohio, graduated from Kent State University and later earned a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College.
He and his wife, Kim, who have been married for over 25 years, now live near Bellefontaine.
The commissioners expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Colonel Hume’s exceptional service and dedication to his country.
