The season of giving is upon us! While many Ohioans are searching for the perfect gifts for their loved ones, the Slaven family of DeGraff is focused on delivering joy to the children at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Tyler and Monica Slaven first started the toy drive in 2015, when he was a freshman and she was a senior at Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA).

Continuing the tradition for 10 years now, both Tyler and Monica continue to support the drive working alongside students in OHVA’s Agricultural Society and Student Council to collect and deliver the toys to the children at the hospital.

Over the years, Tyler and Monica’s younger siblings (current students at OHVA), parents, spouses, and now children have become very involved in the initiative.

To date, they have collected and donated more than 100,000 toys to children who were unable to be home with their families for Christmas.

This year, they will be accepting new, unwrapped, and nonviolent toy donations for children of all ages, ranging from babies to teens, at various locations across the state including Ashland, Marysville, and Maumee.

In addition, monetary donations can be made here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=FRPGY8AFSHS2Q&source=url.

Their final pickup day is Friday, December 13, 2024, with plans to deliver the toys on Sunday.
