Indian Lake recently named its seniors of the month.
Name: Sierra DeWeese
Parents: Derek DeWeese and the late Amy Hoover
School Activities and Awards: FFA (state public speaking, FFA officer) Meistersingers, Marching Band, Musical, Pep Band, Quiz Bowl, NHS, and Improv Club.
If I were principal for a day: I would set up the classrooms for a school-wide nap and order Raising Cane’s chicken for lunch.
Favorite school memory: My favorite memory is from my freshman year when I broke the rule against underclassmen being allowed in the courtyard to start a snowball fight with a group of juniors and seniors.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: I’m inspired by my family, especially my Granny and Aunt Jayme, Mr. Levingston, Mrs. Scheiderer, Mrs. Tussing, Miss Weygandt, Mrs. Keykens, Mr. Schoen, Mrs. Sweeney, Mrs. Notestine, Mr. Fauley, Mrs. Dukowitz, and Lori Samples.
Lately, I’ve been reading: Red Rising by Pierce Brown
My advice to parents: Encourage your children to do random teenage activities. Spend time with friends, try out clubs, and go to Waffle House in the wee hours of the night. That’s where memories are made.
My biggest regret: I regret not going out for cheerleading.
Next year I will be: attending the St. Louis College of Pharmacy to major in Pharmaceutical Sciences in preparation for a Doctorate of Pharmacy.

My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to try their hardest in school and be involved in extracurricular activities.
My biggest regret: I regret not playing baseball.
