Officers were conducting radar patrol around 1:10 a.m. when they caught a dark-colored Hyundai sedan traveling westbound near the State Route 47 bridge.
Radar recorded the vehicle traveling 90 miles per hour, then 89 miles per hour, in a 70-mile-per-hour zone.
Officers caught up with the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop east of the rest area.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Kajon Cosey, did not have his driver’s license with him but was able to cite his license number.
During the stop, Cosey disputed the speeding violation and questioned the officer’s questions about whether there were weapons in the vehicle.
Cosey refused multiple orders to exit the vehicle and requested a supervisor.
Additional officers arrived and also ordered him out of the car.
Cosey eventually complied, was checked for weapons, and placed in handcuffs.
No weapons were found on Cosey.
Cosey was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of obstructing official business.
He was also issued a traffic citation for speeding.
