According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and EMS were dispatched to a home in the 11400 block of Cherokee Path around 11:30 a.m.

The victim told deputies he had allowed his brother, Tony Gipson, 58, of Lima, to move a camper onto his property about a month ago.

He said his brother had been drinking daily and regularly harassing him since moving in.

The victim, told deputies Tony entered his home and began yelling insults.

He said he repeatedly told his brother to leave before he finally walked outside.

The victim said the argument continued near his golf cart.

As he was putting the golf cart into the garage, he said Tony swung at him, causing him to lose his breath before repeatedly punching him in the face.

Deputies noted cuts to the victim’s face, arms, and wrists and photographed the injuries.

He was treated by EMS at the scene.

Deputies then contacted Tony Gipson at the camper on the property.

According to the report, he appeared intoxicated, with slurred speech, difficulty standing, and a strong odor of alcohol.

Deputies also noticed blood on his face.

Tony initially denied any physical confrontation but later admitted there had been an altercation in the garage.

He claimed his brother hit him first but declined to provide a written statement.

Tony was arrested and charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail without incident.
