There’s new energy heading into the 2026 season at the Indian Lake Farmers Market in Russells Point, with Abby Brewer taking the lead as market manager.

A local business owner and vendor, Brewer brings a clear focus: support local agriculture, highlight small businesses, and create a welcoming Friday night gathering spot for the community.

“I’m excited to bring people together and showcase what our local growers and makers have to offer,” Brewer said.

Since launching in 2019, the market has grown quickly and plays an important role in an area identified as a USDA food desert, helping improve access to fresh, local food.

Programs like SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and Power of Produce help make that possible—giving families, seniors, and kids more access to healthy options.

This season also brings a key change—a new location.

The market returns Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the parking lot of Mary Rutan Health, 120 West Main Street, in Russells Point.

Organizers say the move allows for more space and a refreshed vendor lineup.

The market will run every Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m., through Labor Day.

Brewer says the goal is to make the market more than just a place to shop.

From fresh produce and baked goods to handmade items, the focus is on creating a relaxed, community-centered experience.

Plans also include vendor spotlights and regular updates to keep shoppers connected throughout the season.

With a new location and growing momentum, the Indian Lake Farmers Market is set for another strong season—bringing fresh food, local flavor, and community together each week.
