The Logan County Chamber of Commerce is encouraging community members to give back to local businesses this holiday season with a new initiative called the “Gift With Purpose” challenge. The challenge encourages residents to purchase at least one gift from a Logan County business between November 4 and December 24, helping to boost small business sales during the busiest shopping time of the year.
The Chamber recognizes that many people still shop online at big retailers like Amazon, but the “Gift With Purpose” challenge aims to remind everyone of the impact that shopping locally can have on the community. If each person in the county were to buy just one $20 gift from a local store, it could generate more than $700,000 in sales for small businesses — a huge boost for local entrepreneurs who are deeply invested in the community.
How to Participate:
- Shop Local: Between now and December 24th, purchase at least one gift from a small business in Logan County. The Chamber encourages shoppers to explore what local retailers have to offer — you might be surprised by what you find!
- Get Your “I Supported Local” Tag: Many participating retailers will offer “I Supported Local” tags. Simply fill out the tag with your name to show your community that you’re supporting small businesses.
– The first 250 tags will be displayed throughout the holiday season at the Chamber office in downtown Bellefontaine, so make your purchase early!
– If you include your phone number or email address on the back of the tag, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a Chamber Choice Check, with winners selected on December 18. - Snap a Photo and Win: Look for the “I Supported Local” frames rotating between participating retailers. Take a photo with the frame and your purchased gift, then tag the Chamber on social media for an extra entry into the prize drawing!
