Residents in Logan and Champaign counties now have expanded transportation options thanks to a new GoBus route connecting Northwest and Southwest Ohio.

Recent ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held at the new GoBus stop locations in the City of Urbana public parking lot and at the Logan County Friendly Seniors Center in Bellefontaine. Community members joined representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Office of Transit and HAPCAP/GoBus to celebrate the new service.

The new Toledo-to-Cincinnati route, known as the Red Line, officially began service this spring and provides transportation access to several communities across Ohio, including Urbana and Bellefontaine.

Kirby Dearth, Grant Coordinator with ODOT’s Public Transit Team, says the route helps connect residents to education, employment, healthcare, and other destinations across the state.

GoBus is Ohio’s statewide intercity bus transit network, offering affordable transportation between communities that may have limited public transit options.

In addition to connecting communities along the route, the Red Line serves several major destinations, including the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, the University of Findlay, Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
