Indian Lake 5th-grader Calin Headings might not know what a sprocket is, but he sure can spell the word!
Headings recently won the ILMS Spelling Bee.
6th-grader Finn Ammons was the runner-up.
After 15 rounds of intense competition, Headings correctly spelled the word “sprocket,” which is a gear-like wheel.
In total, 20 other students who were all chosen from Language Arts classes, participated in the bee.
Students were provided spelling words from the Scripps National Spelling Bee List.
Headings and Ammons both advance to the Logan County Spelling Bee on January 16th at the Holland Theatre.
