Indian Lake Graduate Sings with Miami University Choraliers

Friday, 2023 Indian Lake High School graduate, Emma King, of Huntsville,  performed with the Miami University Choraliers at the 2024 OMEA Professional Development Conference in Columbus.

She is part of Miami University’s treble choir, Choraliers.

Established in 1908, the ensemble has grown from an informal 25-member society into a premier chorus composed of singers representing majors from every division in the university.

Today, the ensemble includes over 60 members.

The Choraliers have presented world-premiere performances of commissioned works by major American composers including Dominick DiOrio Ola Gjeilo, and Joan Szymko.

They have traveled regionally and have regularly toured internationally to destinations such as Australia, Austria, Fiji, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, and Scotland.

The Choraliers’ first show of the spring semester is entitled, “In Her Image,” which includes songs titled, She, Ave Maria, Be Like the Bird, Mothers of Daughters, 1941, What Happens When a Woman, In Her Image, Song of Mariam and The Girl With the Numbers.

The ensemble is directed by Mrs. Robyn Lana and accompanied by Ms. Beth Hofferber.
