The Indian Lake State Park asks you to keep in mind these snowmobiling rules for an enjoyable time around Indian Lake.
Snowmobiling is permitted on the frozen lake surface and along the ditches of the west and south bank.
Snowmobiles must have a current registration and are asked to be mindful of dangers such as open water and be sure to slow down for people on foot.
For more information on operating snowmobiles in Ohio contact your local Deputy Registrar or visit their website HERE.
A good general rule of thumb when enjoying the ice:
- 0-3” thickness- STAY OFF
- 4” thickness- Safe for 1 person with gear
- 5” thickness- Safe for small groups, spread out
- 6” thickness- Safe for a single snowmobile
- 9”+ thickness- Safe for multiple snowmobiles
Currently, ice thickness is between 5.5″ and 6″ in spots around Indian Lake.
