Sergeant Jason Lapp was sworn in as the Bellefontaine Police Department’s newest lieutenant by Mayor David Crissman in Bellefontaine Council Chambers Friday afternoon. Lapp, a 24-year veteran of the BPD, assumes administrative duties with the department. In his comments, Police Chief Chris Marlow praised Lapp’s dedication to the department and thorough attention to detail, which will serve him well in his new post.
Marlow said that Lapp, who joined the department shortly after he did, was an easy choice to fill the position created when he was promoted to Chief over a year ago. Chief Marlow discusses Lt. Lapp’s responsibilities:
