Briscoe Darling November 17, 2023 at 5:21 pmIt wasn’t the new owners, it’s the old ones who owe the taxes Reply
Local November 17, 2023 at 6:37 pmNew owners inherited any debts or obligations when they purchased the business. They are not dumb they knew what they were getting into. Reply
George November 17, 2023 at 10:51 pmLocal A vendors license cannot be transferred from one owner to another. Former owners are responsible for paying their taxes and no liability on current owners. So, current owners are behind on taxes. Reply
Don’t lie November 17, 2023 at 10:03 pmThat is absolutely not true. The new owner ran this place into the ground! The employee payroll checks were also bouncing last week! Reply
Get Your facts Straight before you call bills**t November 18, 2023 at 10:36 amReally? I have two relatives who work there and I heard and seen at least 3 separate times from both of them that their checks were getting declined at the bank for insufficient funds from the payroll. And that was back in august and september. It’s been an ongoing problem. Reply
Brad November 18, 2023 at 1:24 pmNo warning sign for the workers but there’s no way anyone can say that the current owners were not aware of the situation. As someone who works in Finance for a major local employer you are not going to convince me that they didn’t know. I hope the employees find other jobs. Fans of the staff there need to support them in their new place.
Just stop November 20, 2023 at 6:24 amWe’re those three separate times last week? Ya your 2 cents and your name are worthless
Kathy Kerns November 17, 2023 at 5:42 pmIt does not matter who owes the taxes, people are in limbo, and out of work 🙁 So very sorry for all of the employees!!! Reply
Pam Smith November 17, 2023 at 6:28 pmSad that they couldn’t make some kind of arrangement for payment(s) of the back taxes. This hurts a lot of people. No one’s making money when they’re shut down! Reply
Angry family member November 17, 2023 at 6:58 pmAs someone who is a family member of a long-term employee, the old owners were there for YEARS and not once had this happen. The new owners are penny pinching a**holes who promise a raise for their employees then ends up without a job at all! Reply
The government November 19, 2023 at 11:11 amYou owe us money. We will shut your doors until you give us money. Until then, we will give employees unemployment. Reply
Liberty Or ... November 17, 2023 at 7:49 pmAre we serfs? The state has no right to a portion of your labor. This is slavery and tyranny. Sales tax on food even. BS. Imagine no taxes an no usury. The world would be a better place. Reply
James Norris November 18, 2023 at 7:12 amOliver Anthony proves right more and more everyday. Pay taxes on what you buy, what you make, what you sell, where your located, the land your located on and all the people who come spend their money you have to pay a certain amount on top of the consumer getting taxed. It’s wild that we live in the greatest most freedom felt land in the world but you can’t buy cook and serve food without paying for the service you’re providing literally ten times over. Sad days are here and even sadder days are ahead. Thanks Jason duff and everyone else who’s “helping” our community by opening fifty seven bars and restaurants that also serve alcohol. Reply
Ed November 19, 2023 at 9:39 pmSounds like you think that sales tax is a recent means of revenue generation. Ohio has had sales tax since the thirties. So the sad days you refer to have been around for a long time. I have been a long time customer, but my last couple of visits make me doubt that Jason Duff is responsible for their troubles. Reply
Karen’s sister November 18, 2023 at 7:52 amAbsolutely no warning at all The lights ,and water were on the vendors were delivering still no warning signs that it would go down like that. Reply
Business owner November 18, 2023 at 1:25 pmHello everyone!I’m a business owner and tbh taxes are slavery in every way your staff thinks your mad of gold but they don’t understand payroll tax sales tax personal tax after paying everyone as a owner your often left with very little people don’t realize as a business crew owner staff you all row the same direction to win owners appreciate their people and more so then not give before receiving at least the successful ones… it is time for a change in taxes everywhere all owners staff and regular people our money is being siphoned to foreign countries and politics we are all fighting for scraps at this point! We all need to come together to make a change a fair tax is fine but all these petty taxes everywhere make sure that no one can succeed and make real change tyranny slavery all come to mind but we have to stop in fighting to make a change get politicians that don’t allow money paid to play things happen we are the change we are searching for we need Tom from the store and Peggy from the post office to be in politics not these career criminals!!Band together make a change start having meetings at town halls for change and choose our own reps!!Let’s start now!! Ed November 19, 2023 at 9:48 pmIf you “h” think that taxes are slavery, you apparently think that we have been enslaved since our nation’s inception. I do believe that those who experienced actual slavery would, if alive today, draw a distinction between slavery and taxes. Reply
Kim Titus November 18, 2023 at 3:53 pmFelt something was heading towards closure, many blame the Covid but that is just an excuse. When you go to a place to eat (Homecoming) and they greet you at the door and tell you nothing available for about 20-25 minutes. You see all kind of tables open and they want you to leave. Why not give us a seat and a cup of coffee and let us wait as a choice, don’t run us off. Coffee cost more but how many people will come back that day or the next because the rudeness. Business “The customer always comes first”. I feel sorry for the employees. A good location where all Bellefontaine big business should be located. Off the four lane highway. The right person a responsible work crew can make a go of it, if the price, lease or sale is reasonable. Good Luck KT business should be located right off the four lane Reply
THE NEW OWNERS November 18, 2023 at 5:53 pmTo everyone criticizing the way I ran my restaurant. You are not welcome when we open and if you do come I’ll charge you double to help pay off my taxes Reply
James November 18, 2023 at 8:35 pmA comment like this is why your business should no longer be welcome in this town. I hope you lose everything and someone who knows how to run a business replaces you. Sincerely, all of bellefontaine. Reply
The Land where the Restaurant sits November 18, 2023 at 10:29 pmNobody is dumb enough to drag themselves down any further with a lame a** response about their restaurant the ship is sinking people nobody has the time for this people lost they d*** jobs and this baby back b******* all up in the comments just need to stop Probably just one person talking back and forth to their self anyway 🤣 Reply
Steve November 19, 2023 at 8:49 amThat place always looked half closed. Sign broken, missing letters, outdoor lighting weird, extinct gas ad, the degenerate property next door, outdated paintjob, and many other reasons. If it weren’t for the cars, I’d a**ume it was already abandoned, or on the way out.Very sad, but not surprising. Fortunately for those without jobs, I’ve seen lots of Now Hiring locations, and service wages are up to almost where they should be. Reply
Kelly November 19, 2023 at 9:19 amThe employees just lost their jobs right before the holiday they need all the prayers they can get Reply
Dee November 19, 2023 at 10:25 pmThat will do nothing. P00p in one hand and pray in the other…and see what the results are Reply
