Logan County Education Foundation announces new scholarships

Logan County high school seniors now have access to a range of new scholarship opportunities to help fund their education.

These scholarships, offered by various local organizations and families, aim to support students pursuing higher education or specialized training.

The BHS Class of 1975 Scholarship provides $500 to Bellefontaine High School seniors who have a 2.5 GPA and plan to attend an accredited training program, technical school, or a two- or four-year college.

The Connie Barr/Tony Agner Nursing Scholarship offers $1,000 for students with a 2.5 GPA, good character, and financial need, who are pursuing a nursing-related degree.

The Logan County Education Foundation Scholarship awards $2,000 to one senior from each of the four local schools—Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, and Riverside. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and have completed at least two AP or College Prep courses during high school.

Riverside seniors have the opportunity to apply for the Riverside Scholarship, which provides $5,000. This scholarship is available to graduates with a 2.5 GPA, with preference given to Christian applicants and those in need of financial assistance.

The Dwight & Jane Reed Family Scholarship offers five $2,000 awards to Indian Lake seniors with a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to those pursuing degrees in education or trade-related fields.

The Robert E. Smith Memorial Scholarship offers $500 for Indian Lake graduates planning to study agriculture at a four-year institution.

Finally, the Jerry Ritter Family Scholarship provides $1,000 for Bellefontaine High School graduates pursuing a business degree with a 3.0 GPA.
