Logan County Engineer Announces Engine Brake Restriction

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Sections 505.17(A) and 4513.221(E)(4), on October 19, 2023, the Logan County Commissioners passed Resolution No. 205-23.

Said resolution authorized the Logan County Engineer to place ‘NO ENGINE BRAKING’ signage on County Road 146 in accordance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices with the location of one sign being approximately 60 feet south of the intersection of County Road 153 (said sign on the West side of the road and facing oncoming traffic) and a second sign located a point approximately 3,510 feet south of said intersection (said sign on the East side of the road and facing oncoming traffic).

It’s estimated this regulatory signage will be installed by November 7, 2023.

In short, semi-trucks are to not use their engine breaks on County Road 146 outside of Zanesfield near Valley-Hi.
