The Logan County Engineer’s Office has announced a four-day chip sealing project on several county roads beginning Monday, July 20, weather permitting.
Work will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Thursday, July 23.
There will be no overnight closures, but drivers should expect delays during the day.
Emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed through work zones with the assistance of flaggers, while through traffic will not be permitted.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes whenever possible.
The schedule includes:
- Monday, July 20: County Road 57 from US 33 to US 68
- Tuesday and Wednesday, July 21-22: County Road 49 from State Route 274 to County Road 39
- Thursday, July 23: County Road 103 from County Road 102 to US 68
The Engineer’s Office reminds drivers to slow down in construction areas, as loose stone will remain on the roadway for several days.
Temporary no-passing zones will also be in effect until permanent pavement markings are reapplied this fall.
For the best results and improved safety, motorists are asked to drive no faster than 20 mph on the first day after chip seal is applied and no faster than 30 mph for at least seven days afterward.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.
