Benjamin Logan Middle School held its annual spelling bee on Thursday, with students from grades 5-8 competing.
Seventh-grader Macie Marmon won the contest after 25 rounds, correctly spelling the final word.
Laurel Smith, an eighth-grader, was the runner-up.
Assistant Principal Deepika Scheiderer was the pronouncer, and Susan Headings and Sally Stolly served as judges.
Both Macie and Laurel will represent the school at the Logan County Spelling Bee on January 14 at the Holland Theatre.
