Mary Rutan Health continues to expand services and invest in the future of healthcare in the region.

Chief Operating Officer Christina Myers spoke to the Bellefontaine Rotary Club during its weekly meeting Monday, highlighting recent growth throughout the hospital system.

Myers said Mary Rutan Health has added several new providers across multiple specialties, including primary care, heart and vascular services, telemedicine, anesthesia, urgent care, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and gastroenterology.

She also announced that the hospital received its first robotic-assisted surgery system on Monday, marking a major milestone for the organization.

Myers explained what the addition of robotic-assisted surgery means for both the hospital and the communities it serves.

The hospital is also preparing for several major renovation projects this fall as part of its long-term facility master plan.

Among the planned changes, patient registration will be relocated to the hospital’s main entrance to improve convenience and accessibility.

Renovations are also planned for the colonoscopy procedure area, and the cardiac catheterization lab will be moved from the second floor to the main level.

More details about the renovation projects are expected to be released later this summer.

Myers stressed that Mary Rutan Health remains focused on serving the needs of the community as a nonprofit healthcare provider.

She also mentioned that the hospital draws patients from a five-county region and continues to make decisions based on the needs of those communities.

She said the hospital’s continued growth and investment are driven by its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare close to home.
