Indian Lake High School has named its September Seniors of the Month, Haley Metzger and Tyler Tidwell.
Haley Metzger is the daughter of Justin and Renee Metzger of Huntsville.
School activities and awards: Cross Country, Indoor Track, Track and Field, Meistersingers, Vocal Jazz, Musical, Key Club, SADD, National Honor Society, DECA, National Technical Honor Society
If I were principal for a day: I’d let students have a free day and use their phones.
Favorite school memory: Freshman year cross country, going to XC camp in Brown County, Indiana, getting 2nd at Seneca East, Stars Stripes and Lights Invite, running in the dense fog at our home meet, and winning CBC’s.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My family
Lately I’ve been reading: The Bible
My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to be involved, and that life is what you make of it.
My biggest regret: I regret spending time worrying about things that are out of control.
Next year I will be: Earning my pharmacy technician license and beginning college coursework toward a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Tyler Tidwell is the son of Brian and Mandy Tidwell of Huntsville.
School activities and awards: 2nd Team All-League Baseball, Sportsmanship – Baseball, 2nd Team All-League Basketball, Sportsmanship – Basketball, Key Club, Science Club, National Honor Society Secretary, United Way Youth Leadership, BPA, DECA, Baseball Leadership Team, 2-time Basketball Captain
If I were principal for a day: I would host all-day sports tournaments.
Favorite school memory: My favorite memory is beating Waynesville on a last-second bucket, 52-51, my sophomore year in the District Semifinal.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My dad and mom because they support me in everything that I do and invest in me to be the best version of myself.
Lately I’ve been reading: Mission Possible by Tim Tebow
My advice to parents: Always stay humble.
My biggest regret: I don’t have regrets.
Next year I will be: Attending a 4-year undecided college majoring in Physical Therapy or Education while playing Baseball.
