Drivers in Logan County should expect lane restrictions and road closures as several Ohio Department of Transportation construction projects continue next week.

One of the most significant impacts remains on State Route 274, which closed Tuesday between State Route 235 and State Route 117 for the construction of a new roundabout at the U.S. 33 intersection.

The closure is expected to last approximately 150 days.

The posted detour routes motorists along State Route 235, State Route 708, U.S. 33, and State Route 117.

Another closure is in place on State Route 559 between North Street and County Road 44 through June 12 while crews replace a culvert.

Drivers are being detoured via State Route 245, State Route 287, and State Route 559.

Several resurfacing projects will also continue throughout the summer, resulting in intermittent single-lane restrictions controlled by flaggers.

Roadways affected include:

  • State Route 235 between State Route 720 and the Hardin County line through July.
  • State Route 274 between Rushsylvania and State Route 273 through July.
  • State Route 366 between State Route 235 and U.S. 33 through July.
  • State Route 117 between the Hardin County line and State Route 274 through August.
  • State Route 245 between the Mad River east of West Liberty and the Champaign County line through August.
  • State Route 287 between State Route 245 and U.S. 33 through August.
  • State Route 638 between U.S. 68 and Township Road 51 through August.

In addition, intermittent lane restrictions continue on U.S. 33 at the State Route 55 bridge as crews replace bridge joints.

Work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

ODOT reminds motorists to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time when traveling through construction zones.
