A report released Wednesday morning by the Bellefontaine Police Department details a hit-and-run crash that led to citations for Anthony Myers, 53, of Bellefontaine.
According to the report, officers were dispatched to Love’s Travel Stop on Sunday around 8:50 p.m. for a report of a white Ford Mustang involved in a hit-and-run crash.
The crash was reported near North Madriver Street and West Sandusky Avenue.
Police say Myers was driving the Mustang when it struck the rear of a gray Volkswagen Jetta operated by Reid Butler, 31, of Bellefontaine.
The Mustang then reportedly backed into a black Nissan Sentra operated by Brian Hoskins, 28, of Urbana.
Hoskins followed the Mustang for a short distance and provided law enforcement with updated location information.
Logan County Sheriff’s deputies later found the vehicle in the 4300 block of State Route 47.
Deputies identified Myers as the driver and conducted field sobriety tests.
According to the report, deputies determined Myers was operating the vehicle while impaired and handled the OVI investigation.
Police reported no visible damage to the Jetta or Sentra due to the low-speed nature of the crash.
Myers was issued citations for assured clear distance ahead, improper backing, and failure to stop after an accident.
He was served the citations Monday and is scheduled to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court.
