Drivers in Bellefontaine should expect nighttime traffic impacts next week as crews continue installing fiber optic cable along South Main Street.
According to the City of Bellefontaine Engineering Department, Hypower, Inc. has been working on behalf of AT&T to install fiber optic lines in the area.
As construction approaches downtown, crews will shift to overnight work to complete installation from Auburn Avenue to Chillicothe Avenue before continuing west on Chillicothe.
The nighttime construction is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day.
City officials say the overnight schedule is intended to minimize disruptions to daytime traffic and local business operations.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area and expect possible delays during the overnight hours.
