From patrolling scenic trails to ensuring safety on the water, officers spend their days protecting people and the environment. Applicants who advance through the hiring process will complete a specialized training program focused on ODNR operations. They will then attend the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy. Certified peace officers in Ohio will bypass the academy and proceed directly to field training.
