Pet safety is a big key this Holiday season when receiving plants and delicious food.

Plants you want to keep away from your pets are;

  • Poinsettias

  • Amaryllis

  • Yew

  • Holly

  • Oleander

  • Ivy

  • Christmas cactus

  • Jerusalem cheer

Common foods to keep your pets away from are;

  • Chocolate

  • Bread dough

  • Grapes

  • Raisins

  • Mushrooms

As decorations are up in your home, it is recommended that tensile and ribbon be put where animals aren’t able to reach them.

When leaving your house, unplug your Christmas lights to be sure pets do not chew on the electrical cords.

It is ideal to take out the trash each time you leave your house in case pets get into the foods you want them to stay away from.

You should connect to your local vet if you believe your pet has come into contact with any of the above.

Happy Pawlidays!
