The Urbana Police Department made several drug arrests late Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning.
Five individuals were located and taken into custody by officers on felony drug-related offenses associated with a methamphetamine drug trafficking group that police have been investigating since early this year.
During the arrests, authorities recovered 88 grams of meth.
Several officers were a part of the investigation, named Project Ice Cream, that included several different locations throughout the city of Urbana, resulting in the confiscation of a large amount of meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and some cash.
The suspects arrested were:
Shon Ballard, 46, of Urbana. He was charged with seven counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and three counts of aggravated possession of drugs.
Chelsea Savage, 30, of Springfield. She was charged with two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and endangering children.
Jimie Hess, 50, of Urbana was charged with two counts of aggravated possession of drugs.
Jack Poland, 54, of Urbana was charged with aggravated possession of drugs.
Richard Adams III, 53, of Urbana, was charged with three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and three counts of aggravated possession of drugs.
