Ridgemont Board of Education Meeting Highlights and Upcoming Events

The Ridgemont Board of Education met Wednesday to discuss important school matters and recognize student achievements.

As we enter the holiday season, the Ridgemont Local Schools community would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Updates from Ridgemont: The second academic quarter has started, along with holiday music programs and the winter sports season.

Athletic Director, Mike James, and Publications Teacher, Tara Neer, also provide excellent communication on their respective Facebook pages.

A special mention goes to the Ridgemont football team, which made its first-ever appearance in the state playoffs.

It was a historic moment for the team and the district, and we are proud of the community’s support for the student-athletes.

Upcoming Senior Citizen Luncheon: Ridgemont will host its annual Senior Citizen Luncheon on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at noon.

The luncheon is for community members aged 60 and older who live in the Ridgemont District.

Please RSVP by November 28 by calling Sandy at 937-354-2441.

If there’s no answer, leave the names of your guests on her voicemail.

The students are planning the event and look forward to hosting our senior community members.

Music Programs:

  • November 26th: Marching Band in Kenton Holiday Parade (6:30 PM)
  • December 4th: Kindergarten Concert (6:00 PM) and First Grade Concert (7:00 PM) at Mt. Victory Commons
  • December 18th: Holiday Concert (Bands/JH/HS Choir) at Mt. Victory Commons (6:00 PM)

Important Calendar Dates:

  • November 27–29: No School – Thanksgiving Break
  • December 19: 2-Hour Early Dismissal (1:15 PM)
  • December 20: No School – Teacher Professional Development
  • December 23–January 3: No School – Christmas Break
  • January 6: School Back in Session
  • January 20: No School – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Student Recognitions: During the board meeting, several students were recognized for their outstanding achievements in fall sports.

The following students earned All-League Honors in the Northwest Central Conference (NWCC):

  • Boys Golf Team: NWCC Champions
    • Dawson Manns: NWCC Golfer of the Year, First Team
    • Will Browning: First Team
    • Harrison Reppart: First Team
    • Devan Ramsey: First Team
    • Coach Collin Wallace: NWCC Coach of the Year
  • Volleyball:
    • Lauren Wingfield: NWCC Second Team
    • Amiah Jones: NWCC Honorable Mention
    • Cylee Streets: NWCC Honorable Mention
  • Football:
    • Colton Bailey: First Team Center, First Team Defensive Line, First Team Punter
    • Patrick Stacklin: First Team Guard
    • Jevin Henderson: First Team Linebacker
    • Xavier Stuck: First-Team Defensive Back
    • Mason Howard: Second Team Running Back
    • Kolton Manns: Second-Team Defensive Back
    • Landon Eaton, Jordan Olsen, Kody Kiser: Honorable Mention

This football season also marked Ridgemont’s first state playoff game, and the team’s strong performance has been a point of pride for the entire district.
