High school students at Ridgemont will present the musical Once Upon a Mattress this weekend.
In this musical version of The Princess and the Pea, Princess Winnifred is an ungainly, brash girl competing for the hand of Prince Dauntless, whose domineering mother Queen Aggravain has declared he must marry a “true” princess before anyone else in the kingdom can marry. This is a comedy with several twists and turns.
Students have been working for over three months on this production as they started the first week of December.
The cast and crew is made up of twenty six students.
Jillian Kearns will play Princess Winnefred the Woebegone while Kevin Eckstein will be Prince Dauntless. Matty McLane is Queen Aggravain, Wes McKinley will play King Sextimus, Xavier Stuck is the Jester, and Abby McElfresh will be Princess #12, Lady Lucille.
The musical is directed by Lucretia Fenwick.
Showtimes will be Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00, and Sunday at 2:00.
