In a notable court session Thursday, Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas delivered sentences for two individuals involved in separate criminal activities.
Jeffrey Rivers has been sentenced to five to seven and a half years in prison. Rivers, who pled guilty to seven counts of breaking and entering and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, committed these offenses in the wake of the tornado that devastated Logan County in March 2024. His criminal actions were part of a broader series of thefts that plagued the region following the natural disaster.
Tyler Cabot received a prison term of three to four and a half years. Cabot was convicted in connection with a series of drive-by shootings that occurred in Bellefontaine and Russells Point. His crimes have been a significant concern for the local community and law enforcement.
Both sentences were recommended by Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart, and Judge Braig adhered to these recommendations in his rulings. The sentences reflect a commitment to addressing and penalizing serious criminal behavior in the region.
